IMSSEA operational Headquarters is located in Villa Candida in an elegant residential district where 8 multi media
classrooms and a navigation simulation system are shared with the classes of the Italian Shipping Academy.
In addition 2 fully equipped training structures are under completion in the very heart of the harbour and will be
operational in 2009.
The IMSSEA training is open to officials from maritime administrations and port authorities who have responsibility
for the sector of the relevant course or who may be planning to undertake such responsibilities.
Applicants should have educational qualifications equivalent to university entrant level, preferably with maritime
experience and only those candidates with good knowledge of the English language will be considered, as the course
will be conducted solely in English. Seafarers with a Master or Chief Engineer certificate or naval architects are
considered suitable, particularly those with appropriate experience working in a maritime Administration.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be issued an IMSSEA certificate attesting to their participation.
Courses are normally limited to 12, maximum 15 participants. Accommodation facilities adequate to participants'
professional status are provided.
